The vessel is a being designed to transport, contain, store, preserve and protect precious items in multiple forms. A vessel, in any form, also serves to protect these items from the effect
outside elements could potentially have on their containments.
A vessel can take on a multitude of forms: a flower jar, a ship or vehicle, an urn, a piece of pottery, or the person standing beside of you. The human vessel strives to
uphold it’s design by containing numerous elements: physical, mental, emotional and well as a being’s soul. As human vessels, we carefully select what we store and who we allow to
access our inner being. We take extensive measures, as precaution,
on how carefully we contain our person, emotions, memories, thoughts, ideas, experiences and secrets (the good and bad).
Over time, we can cause an excessive amount of stress, to an already fragile container,
by compressing these elements until the vessel either overflows or begins to head toward
inevitable collapse. Yet, all the while, we create new and innovative ways and “quick fixes” to hold our vessels together until it is
beyond hope of repair. Instead of appropriately dealing
with the harmful elements, we simply ignore them and cram them away- out of sight and mind- where they slowly fester and affect their environment by corroding the container.
This body of work serves to explore the unanticipated, long-term effects and consequences of containing the elements of our being far from the surface where we think them to be safe and secure.

For an artist to visually re-interpret dreams, or components of dreams, is nothing but an observable fact. Many great artists such as Rene Magritte and Henri Rousseau
used dream images as inspiration for new works. Dreams are said to be many things, such as unconscious problem solving or a way of sorting out details from the conscious day.
I believe that there is interpretable symbolism that can be derived from analyzing dreams and every so often I research those details. Other times I just do not want to know what the dreams are about
or why they occurred. However, some images continue to reveal themselves and will not exit my brain until I analyze them.
In conjunction with a dream journal, I have chosen images that continue to haunt me. Many of the images depicted in the dream series are of moments
within or characters from a dream. Each image is created using digital collage. This series is meant to be ongoing.
