Warmblooded dreams trapped in ice. The limbs of phantoms and demons grab at a girl of plastic love. A glass jug smashed by a meteorite sends coins to vampires clutching at empty meaning. A mother and daughter as pale sacrifices to the memory of mythology caught in a house aflame. The senses go. The nerves fizzle in the void. The heart falters. And yet ice swims in blood warmed dreams.

Ocean Plastic Exhibition

Expo 216, Inc., Wilmington, N.C.

May 27, 2016 – July 31, 2017

Opening in May of 2016, Expo 216 is theme-driven “gallerium” focusing on a single social or environmental issue. The inaugural theme, Ocean Plastic was inspired by a photograph of an albatross corpse with ingested plastic by nature photographer, David Liittschwager.  Visitors will view multiple components of the theme including:  CSI: Albatross, an interactive crime lab; Fashion in Plastic, nine stunning fashion creations crafted by local designers; The Plastic Age, an insightful history of the invention of plastic; What Goes Around, Comes Around by Bonnie Monteleone; Light Within the Darkness: What Lies Beneath by Alexandra Morse; along with provocative and thought-provoking art by local artists.
